Pam Stenzel @ Athens High School (03.02.2011)

Dear friend of youth,

“Nobody told me.” This was the response heard repeatedly by nationally renowned speaker Pam Stenzel when, as a high school counselor, she would talk with a young person just diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease. We all recognize the pressure exerted by our culture on our youth to make choices that are at once unhealthy and dangerous. Nowhere is this more evident than in our sexually charged social atmosphere.

Pam Stenzel has now become a leading voice in telling the truth to youth and their families. With her no-nonsense, straight-talking style, she lays out all the possible consequences of premature teenage sexual choices, and tells them about another way with compassion and encouragement. She has appeared on major talk shows around the country, and produced a video of her presentation to a high school audience, which has been used to educate even more youth and parents. Troy Youth Assistance has used this video, with rave reviews, in their “A Time to Wait for Sex” program for the past six years.

We are pleased now to invite you to hear Pam Stenzel in person on March 2, 2011 at Athens High School Auditorium. We also ask your help to spread the word of her local appearance. The attached flyer contains all the information you need to register and attend. You can also view a promotional video on the TYA website: www.troyyouthassistance.org. Please copy and distribute the flyer to any and all who care about youth.

Please note that the program is designed for both parents and their children in grades 7 through 12 to attend together at the parents’ discretion. Our hope is that both parent and youth, hearing the same information at the same time, will continue the discussion at home.

Anyone who attends this program will never be able to say, “Nobody told me.”

Respectfully,

Leonette Ciepielowski

Chairman, Troy Youth Assistance
